6-week Puppy Training Course

My 6-week puppy training course costs £130 and is designed to make training fun and enjoyable for both you and your puppy.

The course is structured so that each week progresses on what you learnt the week before. Regular attendance is therefore important, helping you and your puppy make steady progress throughout the course.

If your puppy is unable to join the course from the beginning because you haven’t yet brought your puppy home or their vaccinations haven’t been completed, don’t worry. If this means you miss either the first class or the first two classes, I offer a free 30-minute catch-up session to help you and your puppy get up to speed.

If you need to miss a class for any other reason, it may be possible to catch up during the following week’s class, depending on the size of the class. Alternatively, I offer a 30-minute catch-up session in your home for £25, so you don’t miss out on the training from the class you’ve missed.

After each class, you’ll receive clear, easy-to-follow training notes covering everything we’ve worked on. These are a handy reminder of what to practise at home during the week, helping you and your puppy stay on track and ready for the next class.

Is This Your First Puppy?

If you haven’t had a puppy before, or for a long time, you may benefit from an “Early Days” home visit just before, or just after you bring your puppy home so that you know how you’re going to start off with your new family member, including things like toilet training. This appointment will bring you lots of help, hints, and tips on the early days of having a new puppy. Plus help in getting you started and ready for puppy training. The appointment must be arranged by telephone or email, not through the puppy class booking system.

The price for an “Early Days” home visit is £55to be paid by BACS in advance of the home visit appointment.

Dog Obedience Training Course

Our 6-week Dog Obedience Training Course costs £130 and is ideal for dogs and owners who would like to take their training further or work on areas that need improvement.

Unlike the puppy course, these classes are less structured, as the training is tailored to the individual needs of each dog. This means you can work on the exercises that are most useful to you and your dog, while still enjoying the benefits of training in a class environment.

As each dog may be working on something different, training notes aren’t provided after these classes, so please bring a notebook and pen if you’d like to make notes as we go along.

Is a class right for your dog?

Not every dog is comfortable training around other dogs. If your dog has temperament issues or finds being close to other dogs difficult, a busy class or hall environment may not be the best place for them to learn. One-to-one training may be a much more suitable option, allowing us to work with your dog at their own pace and without the added pressure of a class situation.

Some training problems are also much better worked on in a real-life environment rather than inside a hall. Poor recall and lead pulling are two good examples, so these are covered through one-to-one training rather than during the course. Please see the 1 to 1 Home Visit dog Training page.

Please note that while I am happy to help with many training and temperament issues, I no longer take on dogs displaying aggressive behaviour.
